Over the last 2 years I have been attempting to redesign NFL team logos. This is an ongoing project I have been working on, on and off in my free time.
AFC WEST
OAKLAND / LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
One of the very first jerseys I ever owned. My father was stationed in Oakland before I was born. He brought it for my brother, then passed down to me! If wasn't a Saints fan I would be Raiders fan. Design wise, in order to go along with the move from Oakland to Vegas, I decided to update it by keeping it simple with a skull and an eye patch. The tricky part of this design was the skull. Skulls have illustrated by MANY, MANY designers (especially sports logo designers), so I had to work really hard to keep my skull original as possible (lots of research).
AFC SOUTH
HOUSTON TEXANS
As a graphic designer, I am extremely impressed by how well the the Texans logo was designed. I personally am not sure one could one-up that design, but this my take. I tried to keep it simple but functional.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
For the complete life of me, I think the Colts ownership just likes to mess with NFL fans. A horseshoe is still horseshoe even if it sideways. You turn it one way it looks like a "C", if you get creative, you turn it the other way, it's a "D". You could ask a child and they would do the same. I think every logo designer that has redesigned this logo has done just as I did and made it a "C". Anyways, these are 3 design concepts I chose to showcase.

This logo was fun and super simple when I stated to lay out the design. Steel hammers incorporated into the original design to give it a more updated modern look.
